If you heard happy shouts from the school yard this week, you know that most area students are out on summer break. While summer is a great time for kids to relax and enjoy the sunshine, it can be stressful for working parents. Here are some helpful resources to keep everyone fed and safe over the summer.
- the Food for Kids Program partners with Tulsa Public School to provide the Summer Cafe program. Children under 18 years of age can get a free meal at 11 locations in Tulsa.
- the Child Care Resource Center can help you find child care in Tulsa, Wagoner, Creek or Rogers County. Click the link or call them at 1-800-438-0008 for assistance.
- Tulsa Public Library has a long list of summer camp options on its website. While many day camps are already full, some will have openings or new sessions during the season.
If you have suggestions, or want to hear ideas from other parents, please contact us. This post will be updated with your comments and questions. Here’s to a fun and healthy summer with this classic song by Nat King Cole. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOV96BCAvZc
